A violet-pigmented toning cleanser — a curl-friendly purple shampoo for blonde, highlighted, silver, and grey curls that neutralises brassiness while keeping hair hydrated.
What it does
Violet pigments cancel out yellow and brassy tones to keep blonde and grey looking cool and bright, while the cleanser washes gently and hydrates. Unlike a traditional purple shampoo, it tones without leaving curls dry or brittle.
Highlighted ingredients
- Violet pigment (CI 60730) — cancels yellow and brassy undertones.
- Cocamidopropyl betaine — a gentle, coconut-derived cleanser.
- Grape seed oil — lightweight hydration.
- Wheat germ oil — vitamin-E-rich nourishment.
Good to know
It has a gentle, low-lather formula. Use it once a week or as needed — if curls start looking too ashy, drop back to every second or third wash. Leave it on for 2–3 minutes to tone (longer gives a cooler, more ashy result), and add extra on the ends, which brass first. It's safe for colour-treated and bleached hair, and it helps counter the brassiness that Cape Town's hard water can cause — clarify first with Just To Clarify if buildup is heavy. Because of the violet pigment it can temporarily stain hands, so wash them after use and avoid light-coloured towels while hair is wet. Contains wheat germ oil and soybean protein — patch test if you have a wheat or soy sensitivity.

Vegan, cruelty-free, and Curly Girl Method friendly. Free from sulphates, silicones, drying alcohols, parabens, waxes, and mineral oils.
How to use
On soaking-wet hair, massage a generous amount into the scalp in circular motions, then milk it through from roots to ends, adding water to distribute. Add a little extra to the ends, leave on for 2–3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Use weekly or as needed, and follow with The One & Only Creamy Conditioner to lock in moisture.
