Vegan Hair Care

Vegan hair care contains no animal-derived ingredients. Common non-vegan ingredients in conventional hair care include keratin (derived from animal hooves and horns), silk proteins (derived from silkworms), lanolin (derived from sheep wool), honey, beeswax, carmine (derived from insects), and collagen (typically animal-derived). Vegan formulas replace these with plant-derived or synthetic alternatives that deliver equivalent or superior performance.

Cruelty-free means the product (and its ingredients) has not been tested on animals at any stage of development. A product can be cruelty-free without being vegan (contains animal-derived ingredients but wasn't tested on animals) and vice versa. Many professional brands are now both — vegan and cruelty-free.
