Kérastase for Weakened Hair

The Kérastase Genesis range is the brand's dedicated system for weakened, fragile hair prone to breakage and hair fall. Built around Aminexil (a clinically tested anti-hair-loss molecule) and Edelweiss Native Cells, Genesis targets the two main causes of weakened hair: weakened fibre that breaks easily, and accelerated hair fall at the root.

Genesis Bain Hydra-Fortifiant: Strengthening shampoo for fine to normal hair that is weakened by breakage. Hydrating, lightweight formula. Available in 250ml and 500ml.

Genesis Bain Nutri-Fortifiant: Strengthening shampoo for thick or coarse hair that is weakened by breakage. Richer, more nourishing formula. Available in 250ml and 500ml.

Genesis Fondant Conditioner: Strengthening conditioner that detangles fragile hair whilst delivering Aminexil and ceramides to the cortex.

Genesis Masque Reconstituant: Weekly strengthening mask for intensive repair of weakened hair.

Genesis Sérum Anti-Chute Fortifiant: A leave-in scalp serum targeting hair fall directly. Applied daily to the scalp for active follicle support. The hero product of the range.

Genesis Défense Thermique: Heat protectant that combines thermal shielding with active hair fortification. Use before blow-drying or flat-ironing weakened hair.

Hydra-Fortifiant: For fine, oily, or normal hair. Lightweight cleansing without weighing fine strands down. Hydrating but not heavy.

Nutri-Fortifiant: For thick, coarse, or dry hair. Richer formula that nourishes thicker strands. More moisturising for hair that needs extra care.

If you're unsure: choose Hydra-Fortifiant. It is the more universal of the two.

Wash with the appropriate Bain (Hydra or Nutri) 3–4 times a week. Follow with Genesis Fondant conditioner on mid-lengths and ends. Once a week, replace the conditioner with the Genesis Masque for intensive strengthening. Apply Genesis Sérum Anti-Chute Fortifiant to the scalp daily — this is the leave-on treatment that delivers the most active intervention against hair fall. Use Défense Thermique before all heat styling.

How long until I see results from Genesis? Most clients notice reduced shedding within 4–6 weeks of consistent use. Visible fibre strengthening and reduced breakage typically appears within 6–8 weeks. The Sérum Anti-Chute Fortifiant accelerates results when used daily.

Genesis vs Résistance — which is right for me? Genesis targets weakened fibre and hair fall — for hair that's fragile, breaks easily, or sheds more than normal. Résistance targets structurally damaged hair — for hair that's been chemically processed, bleached, or heat-damaged. If your concern is breakage from damage, Résistance. If your concern is fragility and shedding, Genesis.

Can I use Genesis with Nioxin or other thinning hair systems? Yes — Genesis and Nioxin are compatible and often used together. Nioxin focuses on scalp cleansing and follicle stimulation; Genesis focuses on hair fibre strengthening. The combination addresses both ends of the thinning hair problem.
